This week, students worked in teams to solve puzzles. As teams worked, they were asked to consider the impact and effects on their project of working in teams, developing strategies, and competing with other teams. Students wrote journal entries on how these factors affected them, and they received feedback on how to write better paragraphs. This exercise leads us perfectly into the beginnings of our "We Can Change the World" Challenge - a challenge which will involve teamwork, strategy, and competition.
Next week, students will take pretests on each of the three focus areas from which we can choose to develop our challenge entry: Green Spaces, Energy, and Recycling. Don't worry! Pretests are just a way for me to find out who already knows what! After completing the pretests, each student will get to vote for which focus area we will study and ultimately use to form our project for the second nine weeks.
