Did you know there are as many microbes on one of your hands as there are humans on Earth?
Third grade GT students recently built biogas digesters in attempt observe microbes found in soil producing methane, but they don't seem to be working right. If we needed this methane to cook dinner tonight we would go hungry. What do you think went wrong? I have a theory. Do you? Please share your theory as a comment here!
On Tuesday afternoon, we have a guest speaker who will talk to us about alternative energy sources.
This Thursday at 12:00, parents are invited to help us test our solar ovens! Our goal will be to harness the sun's energy to melt chocolate. Can we do it? (In case of clouds, please bring a desk lamp if you have one!)
On Fun Friday, we will celebrate a semester of glowing in GT with our semiannual glow stick party.
...And that wraps up our study of energy. Next semester, we will research in preparation for a Scientist Fair!
