With our Career Fair behind us, it's time to move forward to the big event: On Thursday, May 29th, Roberts 3rd grade GT students will hold their first ever Scientist Fair!
Students have conducted in-depth investigations of STEM-based careers of interest to them—to include researching colleges that offer programs of study in their fields and exploring real companies hiring for their positions right now. Students are also working to conduct and report on science fair projects closely related to their fields of study, and they will be in persona and available to answer all of your questions from 2:30 until 6:00 that day. You are cordially invited to attend!
New display boards will be sent home this week, and it is time for student scientists to beginning planning and conducting their projects. We will work on creating all of the pages for displays in class beginning this week. Students will be encouraged to use technology to create and store their information, but the development of web pages will become optional at this point.
I have attached a photograph of the layout for the second display board as well as a photograph of how the final displays will be assembled. I have also updated the sample web site to include instructions for the final steps.
Here is the outline of how we will spend our final weeks of GT for the year:
April 29-May 1 Scientist Fair Step #1
May 6-8 Scientist Fair Step #2
May 13-15 Scientist Fair Step #3
May 20-22 Assemble Scientist Fair displays + persona discussion
May 27-29 Assemble Scientist Fair displays + interview discussion
May 29 Scientist Fair AFTER SCHOOL (2:30-6:00 PM)
